After securing Championship survival in the 2013-14 season by just two points, Blackpool endured one of the most torrid pre-seasons in recent times. Some 27 players left the club over the summer, leaving newly-appointed manager Jose Riga with a playing squad of just eight - and no goalkeeper - two weeks before the season began.
Five games into the campaign, the Seasiders have failed to pick up a single point and are rooted to the bottom of the table. Their troubles worsened in the September international break when manager Riga was accused of disappearing on an unauthorised one-week holiday.
